For as long as I can remember, I've always enjoyed helping people. All throughout high school and college, I've found myself in situations where I was helping someone with something! I liked to joke and say that I have a sign on my forehead that says "ask me" ;) 

 

Hence, it is no surprise that I gravitated toward a Psychology major in college. I was intrigued by the subject since I first heard about it. I absolutely loved my major, but I didn't know what I wanted to do as a career after I graduated. After a career crisis, some soul-searching, and some research, I went on to graduate school to study College and Career Counseling. Not only did I learn how to help others, I also learned how to navigate my own growth. It was a perfect storm of challenge, growth, and development.

 

Since then, I've worked at multiple college campuses as an academic and career counselor. Through my experiences, I realized that I get excited about all things career and I want to channel that excitement to serve a purpose.

 

That is why I started CareeRise!  I hope to motivate, educate, and guide you toward career success and fulfillment. I'm here to help people recognize their full potential and navigate through career planning and professional development.

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology

• Master's Degree in Counseling, Specialization in College Counseling & Student Affairs

• Post-Master's Certificate in Career Education & Counseling

• Nearly 10 years of experience working at colleges and universities helping people with career decisions, academic planning, and goal-setting in one-on-one and group settings

• Worked at Cal State Northridge, Cal State LA, Pasadena City College, Cal Lutheran University, and UCLA

• Taught multiple Freshman Seminar and Career Theory courses at Cal State Northridge and Cal State LA

• In my training, I studied career development, student development, human development, and counseling techniques; and learned how to apply these theories to help people improve self-awareness, increase confidence, and make decisions

I believe that each person has the ability to grow, evolve, and make informed decisions, but our internal compass gets blurry when we take in messages from society, culture, etc. My goal is to help you clarify your goals, make a plan, and learn practical tools and strategies to find a fulfilling career.
